As the Ford F-150 all aluminum bodied pickups roll into dealerships throughout Kansas and Missouri, Wicklunds CARSTAR was one of the first independent auto body shops in the region to open a qualified aluminum repair facility to handle repairs on these – and other aluminum body vehicles.

Aluminum vehicles require different repair methods and cannot be repaired at a non-recognized facility. Wicklunds CARSTAR has been recognized by CARSTAR for completing the training and preparation to handle structural and non-structural repairs on aluminum vehicles, including the new Ford F-150 pickup. This includes the training and certification of construction of dedicated shop area for aluminum repairs and designation of separate tools and equipment for aluminum repair. In addition, CARSTAR has its own internal certification process that is part of its proprietary EDGE Performance Tier 5.

How do I know if a body shop is really trained and has the equipment to repair my vehicle? Look for a shop that has a segregated bay for aluminum repairs only, with tools used only on aluminum and technicians trained specifically on aluminum – ask to see their certificates for aluminum repair and welding.
